my yoga practice began when i was in university running cross country. i started practicing very regularly in my off season as i was working for lululemon athletica + found it as such a great way to compliment my training. once I graduated from university, i moved to Calgary for work + my practice shifted more into the hot room. i explored all types of hot yoga but found a bit of an obsession with Baron Baptise power yoga. in 2011 i did my first yoga training in Hawaii, completing the 100 YTT course + started teaching shortly after returning, finding a home in several hot yoga studios across Calgary. although i still do love a hot sweaty yoga class i began to make the shift out of the heat once i got pregnant with my son. crazy enough, both my running + yoga really slowed down at about twenty weeks into my pregnancy because i suffered from pubic symphysis quite seriously. my fitness shifted to spin, barre + hiit type classes as i was doing everything i could to stay super active without being able to do what i have always done. through consistent rehabilitation + patience i managed to get back into the racing + back on my yoga mat regularly once my son Ford was two years old. when i got pregnant for the second time, i truly never left my mat. completing the MYNAH School of Yoga 200 HRS yoga teacher training while i was pregnant with my middle child Anna, at Junction 9 Yoga + Pilates in Calgary.
